Have you ever had a Manhattan? And by that I mean the drink… Over the weekend the girls and I went to a nice restaurant in Ann Arbor where drinks didn’t have a price range. I always ask the waitresses if I should be worried when this happens “Laughs”. I decided to have one of their famous Manhattan martinis since I have not had one. Lesson learned from this drink. It is beautifully displayed, looks amazing, and promises to give you a good time. But when you drink to much, this drink can nock you on your ass. Exactly like NYC, I wonder who first created the Manhattan, and if this was their intentions, to make the drink just like the city? Because if you have ever had one, you will know exactly what I am saying. These drink are strong, taste good, but then give you a good hard kick that will send you stumbling for the next 5 blocks of walking if you are not careful. Any of you guys ever have a drink that resembles it’s name?
When it comes to being spontaneous, Monday was the current peek for me. A small change in plans and a short trip landed myself and my friend in the beautiful and fabulous New York City, with only 6 hours to run around and lunch plans at the first well known pizza place we ran into, I have to say that I had a wonderful first visit to my now favorite city, the past week I have been mentioning NYC in almost every post, and it just seems that I am lucky enough to have finally got a chance to visit, not long of course but long enough to enjoy the sound of the crowds, the laughter in central park, the constant roar of coffee machines in local cafe’s and the smell of mouthwatering food at every corner, the city I never knew was everything I thought it was and the 6 hours I spent there was heaven. Getting to experience what a New Yorker constantly does… the busy rush of people, new love in the park, noodles on a bench and lost tourists constantly asking for directions to name a few. With every visit starts a new dream, and mine has certainly bloomed.
